Smartphone users on the Orange mobile network were unable to access 3G data services on their devices this week.
While some were still able to make calls, others remained unable to connect to a new data session due to a “configuration change” that Orange had made to its system.
It is understood that smartphone users across the UK, had complained that they had suffered an interruption to their service in the following cities:
- Birmingham
- Glasgow
- Portsmouth
- Bournemouth
- London
- Bristol
Interestingly, parent company Everything Everywhere said that customers on the T-Mobile network remained unaffected.
Orange has been criticised by customers after they heard of the problems, and what had happened, via the media and not from the company itself.
The complete service has now been resumed.
