Total's inspiring women rewarded with finalist status in Gloucestershire Awards
Lorrin White and Lauren Hanks from Cheltenham based Telecoms company Total Ltd (Total) are celebrating, both having reached the finals of two Gloucestershire awards.
Lorrin White, Operations Director has been nominated in the Rising Star of the Year category of the 2012 Citizen and Echo Women in Business Awards while Lauren Hanks, Service Administrator is in the running for the Outstanding Apprentice in the Financial and Business Services sector of the Gloucestershire Apprenticeships Awards.
Lorrin White joined Total in 2002 and having progressed from Admin Assistant to Operations Director, she is now responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functionality of the business, focusing on efficiency, retention, profitability, customer and services development.
Lorrin White, Operations Director at Total Ltd commented: “I am absolutely delighted to have been short listed for this award and look forward to an engaging and successful Awards evening with my colleagues and peers.”
Alongside Lorrin, Service Administrator Lauren Hanks is one step away from the title of Outstanding Apprentice in the Financial and Business Services category of the Gloucestershire Apprenticeships Awards.
Whilst studying for her A-Levels, Lauren maintained her interest in Business but quickly realised that the number of University graduates obtaining suitable jobs in their chosen sector was extremely low, due she felt to excessive applications for the same vacancy and the lack of work experience possessed by many. This prompted Lauren to apply for a Business and Admin NVQ level 2 and BTEC Apprenticeship; she hasn’t looked back.
Lauren Hanks, Service Administrator at Total Ltd said: ”I’m over the moon to have been considered and it’s an honour in itself to be short listed for such a worthwhile award. Reaching finalist status has helped me to show others that Apprenticeships are a worthwhile opportunity which can result in huge success.”
